The Republic of Indonesia is colloquially referred to as Indonesia. The name Indonesia is an amalgamation of Latin and Greek words. The Latin word "Indus" means India and the Greek word "nesos" means island.
Introduction
The Republic of Indonesia is a sovereign country. The capital of Indonesia is Jakarta. Retaining the essence of the word Republic, Indonesia is not led by a monarch formed on the basis the royal heredity system. Indonesia has a fair political system of a President and an elected legislature.
Population
The population in Indonesia is 237 million which ranks it as the world's fourth most populated country. Indonesia is also recorded to have the largest Muslim population in the world.
Climate
Rain is unpredictable and the temperature is usually around 30oC. Bali is a densely populated area as almost 3 million people reside here. The culture of Bali is vibrant and ceremonial by nature. Water rafting is a popular sport in Indonesia.

Indonesia is a collection of 17,508 islands. After a series of debates between ethnologists regarding the name that would be given to the modern day Indonesia it was during the late 20th century that the term Indonesia began to be used as a means of social and political expression.
